SITE FEASIBILITY & DESIGN EXPERIENCE

• In addition to four+ years worth of small wind turbine installations, our engineers were trained and certified in wind turbine installation by staff from Northern Power Systems

• Our on-staff engineers were trained in solar system design by personnel from Blue Oak Energy, based out of California, who are known for their renewable energy work throughout the United States

We also have our own solar PV lab operating on one of our Grand Rapids facilities to evaluate actual performance of different module and inverter types in the Midwest region. Some of these evaluations include, but are not limited to, performance of monocrystalline modules to polycrystalline modules; the study of micro-inverters compared to centralized inverters; and the evaluation of the effects on solar energy production from varying module tilt angles and tracking systems. This project gives us direct, real-time evaluation data for the use of improving our design and development of PV installations for our customers.

INSTALLATION EXPERIENCE

• Since 2007 Cascade has installed wind energy projects that range in size from 1.0 kW to 300 kW throughout the United States
• Since 2009 our solar installations have ranged in size from 6.98 kW to 150 kW, and ranged in type from ground mounts, ballasted roof mounts, and minimally penetrating roof mounted systems

PROGRAM MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE

Cascade has the ability to manage multiple projects occurring simultaneously. This ability was first exemplified during October 2009 to July 2010, during which time we installed over 500 kW of solar PV for both commercial and residential customers, of which system designs ranged in size from 6.98 kW to 150 kW. During this same time period, over thirty 1 kW wind turbines were engineered, planned, and installed for both direct customers of Cascade as well as customers of our Cascade dealers located throughout the country. Cascade utilized our on-staff program management, electrical engineering, and installation support staff to execute these projects simultaneously and ensure successful turnkey installations.

To properly support our projects Cascade is in constant contact with our suppliers to leverage and mange equipment purchases and maintain the best price rates, which directly benefit our customers. Our outstanding relationships with wind and solar manufacturers allow us to acquire product for large build-outs. Cascade’s strong balance sheet and credit history enables us to be a preferred partner and developer.

To orchestrate projects from the field Cascade utilizes mobile project management tools to communicate and highlight all portions of our projects, including key project milestones, delivery dates, meetings, and other important items. This allows real-time access to all parties that may need to review documents throughout the project’s duration.

QUALITY ASSURANCE PLAN & SAFETY PROGRAM

Cascade utilizes a strict Quality Assurance Plan to ensure the reliability of the customer’s project as well as the safety of the individuals working on site. All personnel on-site are required to follow our guidelines to ensure the customer’s project will be executed in a manner that will be safe and reliable.

In addition to our documented Safety Plan, Cascade draws upon its expertise and knowledge base in Quality Control principles and procedures from its Automotive, Commercial Furniture, and Waste Container divisions. Cascade Engineering, Inc. is certified to ISO 9000 and TS16949 standards. Additional registrations include QS9000, ISO9002, ISO1401, and ISO1345.
